Highlights of the Ward

Shinjuku Station within this ward is one of Tokyo’s main transportation hubs and the location of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building. It is one of the busy stations in Shinjuku Ward, surrounded by various restaurants and departments. Many spots such as Kabukicho, Shinjuku Golden Gai, and Shinjuku Gyoen have become must-visit attractions for foreign tourists. Shin-Okubo, the place near Shinjuku isa well-known Koreatown in Tokyo, a popular gathering place for young people who love Korean culture and for the Korean community living in Japan. The famous Waseda University is also located in one of the areas in Shinjuku Ward called Takadanobaba, attracting many students to here.
