Tokyo 23 Wards
Basic Information
Ota Ward is located in the southeastern part of Tokyo, at the southernmost point of the 23 wards, with Tokyo Bay to the east. It is the largest of the 23 wards in terms of area but is also the farthest from the city center. The Tama River flows through the western side, providing a natural environment. Additionally, Tokyo Haneda International Airport is situated in Ota Ward, making it a key transportation hub within Tokyo.
Highlights of the Ward
The main commercial areas in Ota Ward are Kamata and Omori. Due to the convenient transportation, including easy access to Haneda International Airport, these areas are popular among office workers, students, and even foreigners. In Kamata, you can find large department stores and bustling shopping streets, which have made the area increasingly notable. Omori, on the other hand, is quieter and more suitable for families. The Tama River flows along the western side, providing several spacious green areas along its banks. Additionally, the upscale residential areas of Den-en-chofu and Sanno in Ota Ward feature tranquil and beautiful streets.
