Itabashi Ward is located in the northern part of Tokyo’s 23 wards, adjacent to Saitama Prefecture on its northern and western sides, and ranks ninth in area among the 23 wards. This ward has a tranquil atmosphere, with many parks and rivers, making it ideal for family living. Due to the relatively low cost of living and convenient transportation, Itabashi is also a popular choice for commuters. It offers easy access to the city center as well as nearby Saitama Prefecture.

Highlights of the Ward

Itabashi Ward features a variety of vibrant shopping streets, such as Happy Road Oyama, a traditional shopping street 560 meters long, located near Oyama Station on the Tobu Tojo Line, and the Itabashi-juku Fudoson Shopping Street, accessible from Itabashi-Kuyakusho Station. Additionally, Itabashi ranks sixth among Tokyo’s 23 wards for the number of parks and green spaces, providing a serene and lush environment. The presence of the Lycée Français International de Tokyo, a French international school, near Shin-Itabashi Station also adds a touch of Western influence to the area.
